Abstract Acrylic Paintings

I focus on color, texture, and form using palette knives and brushes, often mixing colors with cold wax on canvas or board. Then, layer by layer, I add marks and scratch away top layers to reveal under-paintings.
I'm a psychotherapist living in Petaluma, California. I studied etching in Italy years ago, which continues to influence my work. Painting is a form of therapy for me. I relax, release as I move into a flow.
I recently started working with crayons, oil stick, acrylic and hot wax on tar paper, and watched the vibrant colors explode.
